Highways, streets, and roads form the primary transportation system for the region. Currently vehicles travel 11 million miles each day on the planning area’s road network. By the year 2030 travel will grow to over 14 million miles per day. As a result, congestion and travel times can be expected to increase. WAMPO works to mitigate future congestion on the region's roadways through the WAMPO Congestion Management System (CMS).
