This document is not designed or meant to be a plan on how the region will approach air quality issues.  It is meant as a document to provide basic information.  It explains what air quality is, how transportation affects air quality, and identifies transportation strategies to maintain or enhance the region's air quality.  The information in this document was originally intended to be part of the Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) 2035.  Due to air quality being such an important issue in the region (with the likelihood of many changes), the TPB determined this information would best serve as a standalone document.  This will aid in making needed changes regarding air quality once standards have been set and roles and responsibilities have been clearly identified.
