South Area Transportation Study (SATS)

This study focused on southern half of the WAMPO Planning Area and included extensive participation by stakeholders, major employers, and area residents. The study was a cooperative effort involving the local units of government in the southeast and southwest quadrants in and around the City of Wichita, including the cities of Derby, Haysville, Goddard, and Mulvane; Sedgwick County, the Kansas Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, and the Kansas Turnpike Authority.

The Study was designed to examine access issues in the southern half of the region. The study identified the transportation needs of the area based on current and forecasted future land use/development, associated traffic analyses and regional connectivity and accessibility.  Included in the study are some recommendations and alternative scenarios.
