WAMPO's Public Participation Plan (PPP) is critical to successful transportation planning in the region.  Citizens should be part of the planning process, not simply learn about plans after the fact.  WAMPO strives for a planning process that is transparent, understandable and allows for two-way communication.  The plan outlines steps WAMPO takes to improve public involvement.  Key strategies identified in this plan include: holding public meetings at convenient and accessible locations and times, consulting with an expanded list of interested parties, increasing the use of the internet, and improving visualization techniques.  The plan also outline the minimum requirements on how many meetings to hold and the length of the public review and comment periods for all other plans and amendments.
