As the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the Wichita Metropolitan Area, the Wichita Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (WAMPO) is responsible under Section 134 of Title 23, United States Code, for carrying out a “continuing, cooperative and comprehensive” (3-C) transportation planning process.  In order to carryout 3-C transportation planning for the WAMPO region, WAMPO in coordination with the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) and Wichita Transit (WT), have established a cooperative agreement to streamline coordination between the agencies.
